Question, I have someone who wants a German Chocolate Cake, but wants it decorated in a golf theme for her sons birthday.
Can I do the german chocolate cake, and the german chocolate filling, then frost and decorate with buttercream?? Will that taste ok??
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would do the coconut pecan for the filling and just frost in chocolate buttercream. .

Mine with ganache on the outside and the filling inside is more liked than the traditional. So do what you want... that's the fun of baking.
