I am asking for any advice as to how to make mini purses to top cupcakes. I really didn't want a big block of fondant sitting on top, any other ways, cutter advice? These are for next week, so I doubt I can order any actual cutters spcifically for purses.
Thanks for any help!

I thought about doing this too...you can get a chocolate mold (CK chocolate molds, I think they are called) has them...This would be easiest- pour and set. OR just use modelling chocolate (candy clay recipe on this site) if you don't have time to order a mold...

Hi
All I did was use enough fondant for whatever size purse you want to create. Smooth it out and add dimensions based on the design you want and add the handles.
These are some I did freehand and this is what they look like. Feel free to message questions if you want. Hope the photo helps with my explanation.

If you want something 3-D, you likely will have a (very cute) "block" of fondant or mod-choc as a topper. If you don't mind 2-D, I'd start with a small square cutter, and trim off edges to make different shaped purse "bodies". Add your handles and any details and voila! Add a little interest by using a roller or mat with a pattern. I would recommend using gumpaste or mod-choc for 2-D toppers, as fondant will wilt when set on a buttercream iced cupcake.

I made 2D purses using a small angel cutter I had. Just cut off the wings for shape of bag. Then cut small circle out of the center of the head to make the handle. But the 3D ones are cute you could also hallow out the bottom some to keep them from being such a "block" of fondant.

Thanks, no molds, I like the flat ones the best I think, I'm mixing fondant and wilton candy melts to make them firmer, and so the kids will want to eat them. Thansk for the help.
