Can I lightly airbrush a pearl sheen on butter cream? and on White chocolate modeling clay?

I've never airbrushed on BC before I just don't want to ruin my cake.

I haven't done this, either, but in the video tutorials I've seen, they airbrush buttercream all the time. I've "airbrushed" buttercream cupcakes with the Wilton spray colors and they do just fine, and I think that's just airbrush paint in an aerosol can.I don't know about the modeling chocolate, but I'd try it on a practice piece to see what happens - it might look great!

I airbrush all the time on BC...Modelling chocolate though is not that great..Don't get too close or it will bead but a light spray will work.

Pearl sheen tends to get absorbed into the buttercream without being as shiny as it would be on fondant, in my experience. If you want to do a good pearl sheen on modelling chocolate just use the dry dust and brush it onto the clay. The oils in the candy clay work really well with the pearl and will give you a better shine that you get with fondant or gumpaste.
