Baking With The Cake Boss

I just recieved my book today that I order from amazon Baking with the cake boss, and cant wait to try some of the recipes, but I was wondering has anyone else tryed any of the recipes in the book? The reason I was asking is because I was wondering how "real" are the recipes because I recall in one of his shows him saying he doesn't give out recipes.
I have been too busy to try the recipes in his new book that I got a few weeks ago, but I have his other book and they are his recipes. If he gives away his home recipes, they are different from the ones in his bakery and factory. Plus, with the new trend in famous bakeries getting book deals, the recipes better be good because a bad Amazon review (average) can kill book sales in a very short time.
I am a cookbook fanatic and get probably 5 or more a month. I read them like novels, mark the interesting ones, and go to the next one. When I need to develop a recipe, I get out all relevant recipes and do a comparative analysis to begin my recipe. I only refer to accomplished bakers and Buddy is one of them. I may not like his show, but his business and baking knowledge is vast.
Another thing I like to do is go to Amazon after the book has been out a few months. The reviewers will name the great recipes they have tried, and the bad ones. I mark them in the front of the book and put marks for multiple mentions.
I am still too busy to try them in the near future, so the reviews will be what I look at.
Tails, I'm not sure why you posted that. Both books have 4.5 out of 5 stars with many reviews. I'm guessing that your Amazon (SA) and ours (US) may only put ratings in for a particular country. Anyway, the ones I've tried have been very good and different from the same old recipes. Many are Italian based. Maybe our countries have different likes in baking.
I have that book and have been really disappointed in the recipes. They aren't tested. I've tried many recipes from that cookbook and they either don't turn out at all (one of my cakes didn't rise...it was as dense as a brownie...and i KNOW for a FACT i did everything right because i tried it twice and my husband double checked the ingredients as I added them when I did it the 2nd time) or if they do turn out, it was nothing spectacular.
I still refer to the book for decorating tips, but I wouldn't waste my ingredients on his recipes anymore.
