My parents 50th anniverasry is coming up and I woul like to do a 60s style cake. but can't find any pictures of what is may look like. I have one very grainy photo of thier cake but od course the cake wasn't the main feature of the photo it is in the backround. Looks like whipped topping frosting with big white roses. Does this sound right to anyone. Or love some sugeestions. Thanks Bonnie
Looking at a detailed photo of my parents cake I see a lot of white buttercream, roses, piped borders, and they used the pillars to stack the top layer. Very simple, all piped buttercream.
Big shell borders top and bottom. Piped roses. Swags. All buttercream. You'll be surprised at how easy these stryles are to do.
Thanks Ladies for the great advice. I have a clearer picture of what needs to be done. I am grateful for this.
Are you sure that's what they want? If I do a vow renewal, I'd probably pick another cake, not because I disliked mine, but because there so many gorgeous cakes I'd like another!
Thank you for the great pictures. What wonderful help. Thank you for the time you took to get me the pictures. I am very grateful
NP. I have some old Wilton books that a friend gave me a while back, but they only wen back as far as the late 1970's. So I Google on 1960'ish Wilton Vintage books and happened upon one on Ebay that show cased a couple of the wedding cakes that were in the book.
Good luck making the cake. I would really like to see your when you're done.
Good Luck!
