Can anybody tell me the best way to apply lustre dust to my cake?

Do I use a brush or just sprinkle for the best effect. I have made a christmas cake covered in white icing for snow and have the Snowflake Lustre Dust.

Thank you.

if putting on buttercream dip a brush into the dust and then holding it over the frosting tap it gently. if you are putting it on dry royal icing or fondant, brushing it on dry or using a clear alcohol (cheapest is lemon extract...the cheaper the better, more alcohol content). dip brush in to alcohol then into dust or mixing a little together in a small plate.

Thank you for your reply. I will try it dry as I dont have any vodka or lemon extract to use. thumbs_up.gif

Apply to fondant dry with nice soft brush, will give a nice shimmery effect. Use vodka or lemon if you want a more solid color or are painting lines etc
