Shoebox cake, no fondant?

I have been asked to do a shoebox cake for a sweet sixteen, but they don't want any fondant on the cake. Is it possible for me to do the shoebox in all buttercream? I'm afraid it will start looking sloppy when I try to do the lid. It's a closed shoebox. Any tips/ideas? Thanks everybody!

You just saved my life!!!  I had no idea how I was going to pull this off!  I have a great customer, who is very picky only to her advantage.  She does things to perfection, and expects perfection.  I was so freaked about this!!!!!  Thank you a million times over!!!!!
