Wow! it looks like to me that it is individual crystals... I could be completely wrong though.

I have recently discovered that they sell edible diamonds and rhinestones that is just sugar. it looks amazing. There is a new show on TLC called Candy Queen, I think, and this was used on one of her creations. Pretty impressive, but not sure where to purchase them, sorry.

Studied the photo for a couple of days, tilting head and squinting didn't help! Just when I decided they must be proper rhinestones I discovered this site - check edible sugar diamonds, great colors. http://shop.diamondpartyconfetti.com

I got some of the smallest ones (so that MAY have been the problem) but they do NOT look as good as in the picture at that size. My money is that those are real rhinestones in the picture.

Yep KoryAK I am with you, I thought that they were real rhinestones all along... they look toooo blingy to be the sugar diamonds.
