There are quite a few that haven't been fixed. I find that very disappointing. It's too bad there's all of this upheaval without fixing the bugs that existed before.

Change is good...sometimes. I am being optimistic though and hoping they put the forum posts back on the front page like it used to be. I find that I am not wanting to spend the time to go look for new comments and I miss that.
Crossing my fingers they bring it back.

I always copy the recipe, paste it into Word, and print the Word document.

I also want to chime in to say that I find it frustrating to not be able to see latest forum posts, search for what I know is on this site or try to navigate around a site that just isn't working. I'm also going to have some patience (even though the 2 hrs I was asked to wait to search again was 3 days ago) and hope that the bugs get fixed. I've loved CC for a few yrs now and count on it to help me with my latest creation and answer questions for me. Keep working on those fixes and I'll keep checking back thumbs_up.gif

People will get over it when they get used to it.

The same type of uproar happens every time Facebook changes their layout...people jump up and down complaining about it - and when inevitably the layout is changed again down the track, those very same people jump up and down crying "We liked how it was before!"
icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

The only problems I've noticed so far with the new 'look' is that the avatar upload doesn't seem to be working (still), and that if you upload more than one photo of a particular cake, the extra photos will upload, but then don't show anywhere. I guess these are some of the bugs yet to be fixed.

I agree! I am not crazy about the new site either!
I really miss not seeting the most recent forum post on the front page. I learn so much from this site and I do appreciate it, but I feel now that it is so much harder to find everything!

The other thing is that these advertisements are so big, too big!

What I don't understand... it was stated by Jan above that "there are actually less ad units on the page now than in the old version." Yet, they are now charging a fee (minimal yes, but still a fee) if you'd like to have the site appear ad-free on your computer. If there are in fact less ads than before, and it's "not about making more money", why then can't the ads be placed like they were previously. Don't know about everyone else, but in the previous version, I didn't even truly notice the ads. In this new version, they are all I notice when I'm trying to read the forums. They are extremely distracting and feel very intrusive. Offering the "option" of paying a fee to remove something intrusive that wasn't there in the old format doesn't seem like a great "option" to me.

same here. I haven't been on the home page in years. seriously. If I want to see the latest pics, I go to the galleries. If I want forums, I go to my bookmarked page of "new posts since your last visit". So tongue-in-cheek, I say, "Homepage? There's a homepage?" icon_smile.gif

There's an option for a paid version without ads? Where is this?

Also I think it's hilarious that the "tell us what you think" link at the top of every page leads to a locked thread that does not give you an opportunity to tell anyone what you think.

I find it very hard to read at this moment, i have the resolution set at 100% as with all forums, but here the letters are smaller. Half the page is taken up with ads the other half with the forum posts.(did not have that problem before) Problem is, i get chinese ads that I cannot read anyway. Here I cannot use the drop down looking for newest posts, it gives me an error message

For those of you who are having problems reading the font, you can press the ctrl key and + to make the font bigger. Alternatively, you can hold down ctrl and use the wheel on your mouse to adjust the font size.

I usually surf CC from my home laptop, and I find that an envelope propped up vertically on the right hand side of the screen blocks ads very well.

I have to say I'm not keen on the new layout - my main gripe being the lack of new forum posts on the homepage and bugs that prevent me from using the site properly. Not seeingg the ads at all because I have Adblock Plus which is a free add on for Mozilla Firefox which prevents them from showing at all as they slow my laptop down to snail speed.

Yes I've upped the percentage, although it makes me feel older than I am, funnily enough, when answering I have full screen of forum post as before, but when I read, the forum posts still take up less space than the ads, and quite honestly, this is still a cake forum but it doesn't feel like that at the moment. Perhaps the mods still need to adjust some things, it's fairly new changes up until now, but if we don't say what's wrong, how would they know?

I think Cake Central asked us what we think of the new format so they get an idea of what people like and dislike. I am hopeful that they are listening to the opinions and continue to make changes. I too miss the forums on the home page, but there are things I like about the new layout also. I am sure they are working hard to fix all the bugs on the website and it takes time for them to do all this.

So I continue to give them the benefit of the doubt because this is a great website for all of us cakers out there. It has been such a valuable tool for me and I have learned so much from others because of this website.

I'm not a fan of the new layout either, but as long as the site remains free - they can do whatever they want IMHO.

I am not a fan of the new look. I miss being able to see on my pictures how many views and favorites have been added. It is still "buggy" too. I agree that there is more room for ads and less room for cake viewing as well. Please find a balance.

Really? From the mag subscription, or were they taking donations for something?

They were taking donations at one time. It was voluntary. And I had no problem donating because I do enjoy this site and get many benefits from it. That's why the new bugs and the unfixed old bugs and this change and the locked threads on the change are really grating on the nerves of a LOT of people. That's why I "have the time to be bothered" by a "free" cake site layout.

I know how change is always difficult, but I have to say that I don't spend much time on here at all anymore. I always checked out the new questions on the main page, with them not there, I leave. I was never one to go to the forum page, please bring back at least the new questions on the main page.

I hate it, too. The immediate access to the general forum posts was the best part of the web site. Please don't remove that forum posts block from the main page.

Thank you Annie! Your suggestion worked for me and makes the forums much much easier to read! I appreciate your help!

I'm not impressed. I dislike the ad column on the right. It just feels super wrong- Put it on the left !
Also the new forum entries on the home page. Put them back please.

I went to the new entries page and just skipped the whole thing rather than reading the entries as I used to.

my issue is when i searched for a recipe and it brought up the results....i could only see page 1. if i clicked on the page number or the arrow it just brought me back to the home page. i also liked to see the ratings of the recipes on the front list so i knew if i should bother with a certain recipe or not. I am also not thrilled with the ads taking up nearly half the page on the sides. but other than that i like the look of it all. just takes some getting used to and being able to find things. i guess i did like the "new posts" on the front page too. I actually like change icon_razz.gif but i like change that works properly! i want to be able to see recipes!

I would really love to see the newest forum posts on the front page come back - I use to test software and I understand bugs, etc. I love CakeCentral and "I'm sure you're doing whatever you can to fix bugs. It is a free site and I can live with the bigger flashier ads, but PLEASE bring back ther forum posts on the front page
