Giant Cupcake mold ? (re: making candy shell of bottom)

I have the 2 piece Giant Cupcake mold and was wondering what was easiest and most durable to coat the bottom part of my cupcake with white choc. Becuase it is silicone, I wasn't sure. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Is it easier to just dip the actual bottom of the cupcake in melted choc?

You have to "paint" the melted chocolate onto the bottom part of the pan. Since you have a silicone pan that is flexible and moves, you'll have to be VERY careful not to dislodge/move the chocolate once it starts to set up and harden.

Melt your chocolate, then use a pastry brush to paint the inside of the bottom part of the pan. I'd suggest putting it on a cookie sheet, then popping it in the freezer for about 3-5 minutes. Once the first layer is hard, repeat 2-3 times until you get a nice thickness that will hold up, but not too thick to cut.

The chocolate will pop right out of the mold once it has set up completely.

Bake the bottom part of your cupcake, then trim as needed to fit it into the chocolate shell.
