CakeCentral.com has a new look! - Page 3

Hi,
I logon into my account and when I click "My Picture" it gives an error 404 - Not Found. Even I tried to search a recipe, it still gives "an error 404 - Not Found". Please fix the problem. The new look of the web looks great and neat but you have to fix this problem....

My photos are missing - it just says OOPS no photos found.
When I first came to the site this morning they were there and now they're gone. Am I doing something wrong? I am signed in....

The " GoTo " page links from the forum threads list don't seem to work. But it seems to work fine once your in the thread itself.

I like the site it takes some getting used to as with any change. But its great. All of the tabs are along the top of the page and the favorite button is at the top of the picutre your viewing.

I'm sad that the area that showed the trending forum topics is gone. That was my favorite part. I was constantly refreshing the home page throughout the day to stay caught up on what all was happening. Now I can't icon_sad.gif

The ads on the right side is not nice to look at. I like the whole page to read not just 2/3 of it. Also I can't seem to close the ads so they overrun the CC part.

I am all about change, not a problem. But where did our favorites go, I can find the button, but then everything I had saved is not there, big bummer. Also the search button, which for me is the most important feature, is not working...big huge bummer!

It's already been said, but I miss the forum on the homepage. Other than that, I like it.

It will take a bit of getting used to but i am sure that soon no one will remember the old layout.
two things i would point out are
1. I miss the stats on my photos
2. there is 2 inches of nothing to the left which could be used to display more photos.
I love cake central and wouldn't be without it icon_smile.gif

I get an "Error 404 - Not Found" on My Photos. Is anyone else getting it?

I am only able to see the home page!? I went to galleries to see the new uploads and I could see page 1, but if I click next (arrow) OR 2 All I keep getting is this message----No running app instances found. You did not add app role to your farm or no app instances started yet.--- I've been getting this message for 2 days now. I can't seem to look at anything. Not sure why!

Honestly, I don't like it at all. I understand what CC is trying to accomplish and I respect that but this new format is just not user friendly. Please consider changing it back.
To find "THE RECIPE LINKS ARE HERE" thread, click on "Forums", then "Recipes" and it's the first sticky. Latest updates are on (the bottom of) page 10 here: http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopic-625803-135.html

The website looks more modern and it is a good start. A few comments, however: The ads are a bit too big and a bit too close to the content - there needs to be some white space between them, just for your eyes to rest (this is especially true on forum page). The ads feel very aggressive / in your face to the point of being unpleasant, much more so than on most websites (and we know virtually all websites have ads these days). It also limits the percentage of the page that can be content, so it feels like there is a lot less content on the page than previously.

When I scroll most favorited to the right, I get a different ordering of photos then when I click on "more most favorited". Seems strange, no? I miss the number of favorites and views on your own photos, as well as the forum preview on the front page. I find the website is slow to load, possibly because you're going to ad people each time to reload custom ads? The forum page downplays the most important info (i.e., item topic) and makes it equally important with other info like subject area or views. That makes it hard to scan the list of topics under discussion. Finally, I have a mac, and I can make my windows pretty wide. Is there a way I can make the core content wider as I widen my window too? Currently if I widen my window, I just get more white space on either side. While I'm thinking about it, one more suggestion: instead of scrolling content by clicking to a new page, would it be possible to put in an a internal slide/scroll bar in to enable scrolling without having to reload a page? Just a thought.

One more thing - if you can make it easier to search recipes or photos, it would be great. For example, if you could select either by one or more key words, then be able to sort the results either by rating/favorites or by date submitted (most recent or oldest first), etc. that would be very helpful. There are so many recipes out there that if I could search for say, the highest rated scratch chocolate cake, that would be ideal. Or if I'm looking for ideas for a specific type of cake, be able to search for photos based on certain key words and then sort in different ways to see the photos.
