Hi. I'm making a cake for a man who goes on Safari in Africa every year and I'm doing a zebra print cake, but I want to top it with an outline of the African continent, painted like a sunset (reds, orange, yellow) and then put a few silhouettes of African animals, maybe an acacia tree.

I'm thinking of buying rubber stamp silhouettes and stamping them on using black gel color instead of ink, of course. Does anyone know where I can find the silhouettes? I've seen this theme done on cakes on this site but can't seem to find them right now. Anyone have a better way to do it?

Thank you so much!

I'm not sure if I understand what you're going for completely BUT I've done many silhouette type elements before and i usually search for my silhouette images on Google image search.

I search for "Silhouette" and then whatever it is ie) African animals, gazelle, etc.

Also use "clip art" or "illustration" as key words.

I use photoshop to size the pictures and then I print them, cut them out and use it as a template to cut our either gumpaste, fondant or modeling chocolate. I don't know that piping gel will "stamp" very well - experiment first before spemding too much. Stamps can be spendy! Good luck!

Dont do an Acacia tree, do a Baobab icon_biggrin.gif (acacia's are so overdone)

http://www.google.co.za/search?q=Baobab&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=CE2&rls=org.mozilla:en-GBicon_surprised.giffficial&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=__fVTvHMLc62hAerk8Fu&ved=0CEgQsAQ&biw=983&bih=882

No tips on how to do it, but just had to giggle...love the way people refer to it as "safari" icon_razz.gif
