My Great Grandmother made the best fruit cake ever. It was the only fruit cake me or anyone else in our family would ever eat. She would send it to us every year. Unfortunately when she passed away she never had a chance to share the recipe. My hope is that someone may have a similar recipe that they can share. It was a dark rich cake. It wasn't overly wet and when it baked it had a nice crust on top like a pound cake. It had pecans and various candied fruit. If any one has any ideas please share the with me. Thanks in advance.

No flour?
I use Alton Brown's recipe with a ton of modifications. No candied fruit and a whole bottle of gold rum plus some Myer's. Spritzed with Hennessy. Beware, one recipe will cost about $22.00. I just did a 4x recipe for almost $90.00. But it is worth it. I'm posting pictures on my site tonight and tomorrow. It has 187 five star reviews on Food Network.
