My very best friend has made me her Maid of Honor and requested that I make her cake!! I am super thrilled and honored to do this, but I've never done fancy decorations on any of my cakes. I am a little overwhelmed and hoping to get some ideas and tips on wedding cake decorations.

Start studying the pix in the wedding cake gallery. There are many, many ideas that would be easier for a beginner to accomplish. Just remember - a wedding cake is nothing more than a series of 'fancy b'day' cakes put together. Plan, plan, plan ahead! Get together with her and decide what she wants that you *know* you can accomplish. One of you biggest things to remember is that this will take at least twice as long as you think so do as much as you can before hand icon_smile.gif Bake & fz the cakes as much as a month ahead. Make (or buy) the icing at least a month ahead. Don't get caught at the last minute w/o some important ingredients, decoration or tool icon_smile.gif keep in mind You will have other duties to do in the last week before the wedding as MOH & most importantly the day of! The cake can be made on Wed or Thurs for a Sat wedding so you can devote yourself to her needs on the day of the wedding.

Go to globalsugarart.com and look up diamond impression mat. That should make the process easy for you!
