Hey everyone. Does anyone have a pound cake recipe thats good for carved kids birthday cakes? I had a bad little run in with a pound cake recipe before and Ive been afraid to try a new one (yea it was that bad) but I need it for a cake I have coming up soon. Thank you in advance icon_biggrin.gif

well i dont know about a pound cake recipe but i also have a question has any one tried the madeira cake I have a couple of books that mention it and say that is good for carvien, so if you have is it good?

I've doctored up a box pound cake recipe with some almond extract (dromedary) with a whipped cream filling with fresh blueberries. I used it last to make my Mini Cooper Cake. Kids and adults ate it and the cake was fine carving. I still put it in the freezer for a bit before carving. Good luck!
