I was wondering if anyone has the book, Baking with the Cake Boss: 100 of Buddy's Best Recipes and Decorating Secrets . I'm not a big fan of the show, but i was wondering if this book had any good recipes/tips.

I bought it. I can't experiment until January, as I am almost booked. His first book had great, balanced recipes and the second looks the same. Many of these recipes aren't for the novice. But he also includes plenty of photos with basic decorating tips.

His first book was an autobiography with about 30 recipes. This one has some duplicates because they are his core recipes. I believe he has shared his actual family recipes. Most books recently published are careful about offering "nearly authentic" recipes as the reviews will kill a book.

The first book had some really good info about running a business. He really is a master baker, whether you like his show or not. I don't like the show, but I can appreciate his business and baking wisdom.

Hi: I have both of his books and love them. The first one is about his life and the history of the Bakery, plus some recipes. The second one takes you through the book as if you are an apprentice baker. I feel it has a lot more recipes. It is larger than the first book. Amazon had a better price than tlc.com.
