HI there everyone!

4 tier wedding cake for me this week. I have the tiers all covered and will stack and add the cascade of flowers tomorrow for an evening wedding. Anyone else get a bit nervous when it comes to stacking? I don't know why I do since I have never ever had an issue with it but I still get...well...like stage fright. Other than that I had a mini cake for my husband. He was in love because I made vanilla bavarian creme for the wedding cake and he got some in his mini cake last night for his birthday. I swear he'd eat that stuff like gogurt if I let him! LOL!

Anyways...next week starts a 2 week break for me. Next order isn't until the 3rd of December. And I'm going to enjoy this break like you can't imagine! I have a whole bunch of craft projects for Christmas gifts just waiting for me to get started and I'm going to do that come Sunday! What about everyone else? What do you have coming up?

I have had a weekend off here or there since March but not two weeks in a row..this is wonderful! I love the idea of only needing to bake pumpkin pies next week!LOL! Then it's back to work and no days off till after New Years. I love being able to make a living at what I love but I have NO spine when it comes to telling someone "no, I am not working that weekend" so I tend to work and work and work and work and then wish like mad that I hadn't agreed to book every week. This wedding cake is one of those...booked with only 3 weeks to go till the event date, a whole lotta money that will be wonderful when we go to Disneyland, and I figured, hey, I have TWO weeks off after that....now I'm wishing I'd said no. I would have loved to have had this week off too since my son was on half days and I could only put in so many hours at the kitchen anyways and my fingers are itching to start Christmas crafts.

But, I know that these are the complaints of a woman for whom baking is a 2nd paycheck in our family. A nice bit of extra income to allow things like trips to Disneyland but not needed to survive. So I'll stop my complaining, proudly show off the cake when it's all done and then enjoy my two weeks off!

Nothing for me tomorrow. I have several things to be picked up on Wednesday. I do more than cake, so I have pie, bread and candy orders for Wednesday. Tomorrow I will have the house to myself-something that happens very seldom. So, I am going to enjoy the quiet and do some catch up around here.
Have a great weekend!

Finished a simple birthday cake so no more this weekend. It's funny, I work and work like crazy, wishing for a weekend off, then when I have one I get nervous about not having any cakes to bake or decorate. Hah!

Just finished my first baby bottom cake. I think it looks great.
Question........are you more creative at night or during the day? I find that I enjoy myself WAY more when everyone is sleeping and it's just me and the cake. What are your thoughts?
