Ok to sound like a complete novice, I normally make a ganache buttecream but I don't want to dilute the flavour at all. I normally make my chocolate frosting with icing sugar, butter and cocoa. I'm doing some chocolate orange cupcakes and I really want to make a rich frosting and use my fave orange chocolate in it. Would it work if I use my frosting and add cooled melted chocolate to it?
Thanks!

Yes! I always add melted chocolate to my buttercreams, white or dark. Yum!

Yes, you can. As a matter of fact, I too, was just looking up chocolate buttercream frosting recipes and found several that called for melted chocolate. If you don't find a recipe you like here on CC, try looking on Cooks.com.

Brilliant thank you! I can't wait to try the frosting when it's done! My chocolate frosting is very rich so I was worried about it being diluted by the chocolate. Will it still make a nice cupcake swirl?
