i need to make a cookie cake and it needs to feed 20-25 people how big would i have to make it to feed that many?
I would think a 12" would be fine. With cake, a 1 layer 12" round feeds 25 with 2x2 slices and that size would be just fine for a cookie piece too. I make my chocolate chunk cookie cakes 12" round and they feed at least 20.

Excuse me, I don't mean to hijack this thread but do you use a regular cookie recipe to make a cookie cake? I have an awesome chocolate chunk cookie recipe that I'd like to try making into a cake. Thanks!

I use the Hershey's Chocolate Chunks and use the recipe on the bag for the cookies. It makes a 12" round 1" thick cookie that is fantastic.

The answer to your query could be in two lines.
12" round feeds 25
14" round feeds 40
Half Sheet
Double layer, feeds 60 - 70,

Ok, let me tell you in detail. A 12" cake, in two layers, will be enough to give everyone a slice-but it will be wedding-cake size, not a huge wedge.
When cutting the cake, mark an 8" circle in the center (where the smaller tier would be if it was a tiered cake) and cut around it, so that you have a round piece and an outer ring. Cut the ring into slices and serve, then cut the inner cake into wedges and serve. You shouldn't have any trouble getting 20 slices just about 1.5" wide from around the ring.
A 12x18" half sheet will also work, cut it 6x4 for a 3x3" piece.

Abryuak, I've never heard of a 2 layer cookie cake. Do you make them? What filling do you use? I would imagine even 1 slice of a 2 layer cookie cake would be a lot of cookie!

Hi momtofourmonkeys, How long do you bake the 12 inch cookie cake for? Do you have any pictures of one you made? Any filling or icing? Thanks.
