Get My Gumpaste 2 To Stand?!?!?!?

This is my second "2" to make for a cake topper and both of them are too heavy on the top and end up cracking on the lower left corner/curve at the very bottom. I know that it has to do with balance but do you have some pics to share of your number 2 cake topper? Do I need to make the corner and bottom of the number a fatter sausage than the top part? Thanks for your help!!!

Here's one I made. It's fondant with tylose. If you look closely, you can see where the stick goes up into the vertical part of the "2" right on the bottom left.

I don't think my 2 looks much thinner at the top. Not sure why yours is cracking; this one held up fine.

I did this for my son's 2nd birthday. I used an extruder and then shaped it, layed it flat to dry over night. All I needed to hold it was a little buttercream.

I did a really frilly letter "H" and used florist wire through the middle so it wouldn't crack. stuck straws into can and florist wire into straws.
