For basic tools I couldn't live without the following:
Turntable - I have a cheapie one and it works great.
Bench scraper for smoothing sides
Many many many off set spatulas
Paint brushes just for caking
Fondant cutters - I love the Ateco nested sets - a little pricey but totally worth it
More expensive/advanced items I could not live without
KitchenAid Mixer
Pasta attachment for KitchenAid
Agbay cake leveler
My entire library of SugarShack DVDs - not expensive unless you buy all of them at once
FYI, the new fondant molds from Wilton are awesome and cheap. You can't go wrong with those.
