Can I sell cakes made with wilton shaped pans? I need to know if it's ok to sell them or if their is some sort of tradmark issue. Please let me know, I ask this question on the wilton site but have recieved no responses.

Cakes made in the shape of copyrighted characters (with or without the use of a cake pan) cannot be legally sold unless you obtain permission from the copyright owner first.

It's been years since I even looked twice at a Wilton character pan, so I don't remember the wording exactly, but somewhere in the fine print on the pan it indicates that it is for home use only and not for commercial sale.

I am certain that is only for copyrighted images. For example, the Sponge Bob and Scooby Doo are not allowed to be sold, but the baby carriage and the helmet or piano and such could be sold.

There were two non 'character' pans that were also copyrighted. I want to say one was the flower power and maybe another one with a flower pot. I think both have been discontinued.

Annabakescakes is right.....ALL the 'image/character' ones cannot be sold.
Many of the 'generic' shapes like baby bottle; number 1; teddybear; grad hat; cross; shamrock etc, etc should be o.k.
You do have to look at the lable that comes in/with the pan to be sure.
There is one of those common shaped pans that is copyrighted - I think it might be the daisy flower but I'm not sure now.
