I usually just search to find what I am wanting to make...but I don't know what you would even call this. So, does anyone have any tips for how to make the "thing" that the star with "Nadia" is coming out of in this link?

Would you just cut the fondant once on the cake? Then add the black? It just looks so pretty, especially with the black "inside"!

Thanks!!!

i did one on a volleyball cake, i cut a strip of white and a strip of orange and put them together. than i glued one edge with the other and went around making the triangular cuts and they start to fall back than i placed it on the cake. Worked fine! not sure i'm explaining right I can draw it if you need just e-mail me.

That's how it seems to me. You might want to put something on your frosting in that area before putting the fondant on so it won't stick; maybe waxed paper?
