I have a request for baby shower cupcakes. The theme for the shower is not completely finalized, but they know that it's going to be a shabby chic theme and the baby's nursery will be shabby chic with chenille fabric. And they may be incorporating a circus into the baby shower.

Any ideas for how to decorate cupcakes in a baby shabby chic circus combo? One idea grandma-to-be suggested was just a simple swirl in the baby colors. I'm hoping to have some other ideas to present to them.

Edited to add that the word "vintage" was also used a lot in describing the shower.

Maybe you could do a lacy or scalloped edged fondant disk in cream color with a circus animal face (elephant, tiger, etc) on top in the same color. Then use either bronze luster dust or brown petal dust to antique it. I think that will look very vintage and keep with the circus theme icon_smile.gif

That sounds pretty! Do they make small animal face cookie or fondant cutters? I'm sure they must.

I did a circus themed cookie day at my school for my kids - I used a few mini cutters (since I could not actually find mini circus cookie cutters - these may work:

Good luck!
