Hi,

I would love to do this cake of Andrea's sweet cakes,for my son's birthday.
I would like to know what shade of gold is this on the crown?and how to do the indentations on the bottom tier?what should i use to do that?can somebody please help?thank you inadvance.

You can get gold lustre spray which would let you spray the crown gold... you might want to start with a yellowy fondant underneath.

As for the indentations, I might be completely wrong but to me it looks as though she has used a ball tool or something similar to make the indentation for the gold ball to sit in and then used another tool (maybe a dresden??) to make the cuts in around it.

There are several ways to get the gold on the crown. I'm not familiar w/luster spray but you can get gold dusts in verious shades; then you mix it w/alcohol such as Vodka and paint it on. Yes, start w/a yellow-brownish fondant before painting or spraying.

The indents can be made w/any round object - ball tool; marble; anything, then highlight those indents w/a mark from a toothpick or any small pointed tool. Don't drag it, just press to indent.
