I purchased a new wilton cake leveler and it's a joke...the blade is to flexible and bends to easily. This is the one that folds for easy storage, well it's getting permantly stored in the county dump.
I had a wilton one that was pretty good, but did not see that style in the store. I had it for more than 5yrs and the blade broke lose from the end.
I guess you get what you pay for. I will be looking to invest in a good one. I may see if I can return this one to Michael's, but I think I threw my receipt away.
Invest in an Agbay. You'll never regret it! One of the best pieces of equipment I've ever purchased.
Yes, the foldbable Wilton cake leveler was flawed like that from the beginning. I always check reviews on this stuff before I buy. Plenty of problems with that one.
I have an Agbay and love it. Another way that I like just as much is to stack several smaller cake boards back into the pan put the cake back in and just shave off the top. Sometime you may have to take out a few or add a few depending on how much you need to level. I luv this method. If you have plastic coated boards you can wipe them off to reuse. I wipe mine off with disinfectant wipes.HTH
There is a long box sitting in my entry way that is fromm Agbay. My husband is giving me this for my anniversary. It is for my anniversary Nov. 10. I am pretty excited.

I LOVE this tip! Thank you so much! An agbay is not in my near future and this has got to be 100x better that the toothpick method I've been using.
Yeah I hate my Wilton leveler too! I'd never heard of the Agbay until CC, but now I desperately want one. Not in the budget though, not now at least. Sigh....
Riowry, Thanks. I bake for family and friends. No money involved. I have most everything and some things I just don't use. since I learned to do this I never use the Agbay.
ranbel if you used your debit/credit card you do not need a receipt. They can look it up! I was returning the Wilton fondant tools and didn't have my receipt but the lady told me that if I knew what card I used that they could scan the item, swipe the card and it would pull up the purchase. Love it... now I don't have to worry about keepig up with receipts for them! (will not work on cash or check purcahses)
