What would you do if someone took pictures of your cakes from FB and posted them on their cake website as their own?? Someone came across them and let me know..I was extremely irritated when I saw them and she also has other "professional" pictures from the internet on their as her own. Just wondering what you would do if you were in the same situation.I am not a professional just a mom who does cakes for family, friends and friends of friends.
Can you contact her and confront her about stealing your work and claiming it as her own?
If its on facebook. Write a comment on her wall." This would be nice if she made this cake"
I was told once a cake of mine was posted. This was the comment that I posted. It did not take long for them to remove the pic.
The funny thing is after I wrote an e-mail she blocked me from FB! And thank you so much for your kind words! Not sure why anyone would use other peoples pictures but they definitely do..
That Is perfect... Answered all of my questions.. Thank you! I'm determined to get my cake pics back. Thanks!
thanks for introducing us to that FB page.
probably stupid question...
how do you put a watermark on a pic?
I am still learning and aren't really worth stealing (yet!) but I would like to know how to do this.
Thanks!
I would Love to know how to too.. I suppose a photo editor could work. And that FB page is great!!
i used Picnik and watermarked all of my cake pics..ok so i still have alot more to go but it was very easy. I just typed SweetShariCakes in the text box, added it to the pic, made it larger and faded it. It was that simple! The only downfall is doing it to 200+ pictures and removing all pics and replacing them....will be woth it in the end!
Use photoscape it is free and you can add your name to all of your picture at once with the batch editor.

Threatening with legal action should do something and obviously if necessary following it up with actual legal action at a later date - put a date in the letter threatening it by what date they must have taken the pictures down.
You (All of Us) should never post pictures of our cakes online without watermarking them first. Taking someone else's photo and claiming it as their own is Copyright Infringement (According to Canadian Law). Mention that to the person who took your photos. Remember Watermark everything even if you think it isn't worth stealing. Good Luck
When you click on a photo on facebook there is an option under the photo to the right to report the photo. I believe copyright infringement is one of the options for the reason for reporting. If she has blocked you from facebook just have a friend or family member report the photos. Or you can pm me the page and which photos are yours and I'll be glad to do it for you.
