I really hope someone is able to help me. On Monday I made a gum paste face mask for the football helmet cake I am making for my son today. Yesterday I baked my cakes and I tested to see the fit of the mask. When I did, my mask broke in several places and I know it can't be saved. My plan is to try to make one tonight using an internal wire structure as I have read that some people have done. I have several questions and I would really appreciate any assistance I can get. My questions are: 1. What gauge wire is best to use? 2. What is the best way to assemble the wire structure? 3. If I make the face mask using the internal sucture and gum paste covering it, will it be able to be used immediately? Thanks so much in advance.
