I've never used rice crispy and fondant because I'm new to the whole cake decorating business so I'm wondering how do you make it so the fondant doesn't look bumpy covering the rice crispy? How do you get it to stick? I plan on using marshmallow fondant.

You can cover the rice krispy piece with buttercream, ganache or modeling chocolate to get a smooth surface prior to fondant.

I use royal icing to cover the bumps, then let it dry and wet lightly and cover in fondant.

i was wondering this myself- would poured chocolate ganache work good as well?

I "ice" with melted chocolate, smooth with warm palate knife, cover with fondant.
