Hello All,
I just had a question...
Is it rude to ask for the plastic cake topper back to reuse for another cake if not supplied by them?
Same for the cake stand?
Please let me know, because Im unsure.

It's not rude but you should state that up front.

I allow people to "rent" some of my items (cake stands, cupcake stands) and sometimes I allow them to borrow things for free but I ensure that everybody who deals with the cake understands what I need in return, and if not, the client will have to pay for these items.

For instance, I usually let people borrow the cake stand if they need it, sometimes I charge a rental fee of $25, and if gone missing, they have to pay $50. I have quite a few cake toppers with crystals and each one cost me about $50. I charge $20 rental if I'm not sure if I'm going to return it, and if I don't get it returned, I at least have the rental money.

My clients realise that either I will be picking these items up or they will drop them off to me.

But you HAVE to set this forth at the beginning.
