A lot of people have been brainwashed into thinking there is only one digital cutter in the world, namely the Cricut....mainly because of of the exceptional advertising they do. This post is not to change die hard Cricut fans, but to let cake decorators know about other cutters as well.

Linda McClure originated cutting on gum paste and icing sheets, she uses the Silhouette SD and this machine works either with the native software or a third party software like Make the Cut or Sure Cuts A Lot. Here is her link for those that don't know Linda. http://www.deseretdesigns.com/

There is a new machine that is brand new, I have ordered one...not for cake decorating as I don't do much of that any longer. I have a link to a video of the machine called Zing cutting a icing sheet....all I have seen so far this machine is fantastic! Here is the Zing (made by the KNK people). The native software for this machine is Make The Cut, and you can't get any better than that!

Thanks for the update. I think CC blocks Linda's website but you can always google her. I am planning on getting silhoutte this year. I think it is much better than the cricut since it doesn't require the cartridges and works with the software.
