I just made 2 batches of heart shaped NFSC, and now that there cooling off I see pimples all over them. ( Pimples= looks like the cookies have goosebumps.) I don't know why that happened. My oven was hot enough. So was the cooking time. The cookies taste great and are done. Will icing the cookies hide that? I been making the cookies for at least 4 years now and I seen it before, but today they stand out.

Are they air bubbles? If so, this is what I do.. I know it sounds crazy, but it works! As soon as they come out of the oven, I press my Wilton cookie spatula down on all of them (while they are hot) and that gets rid of the bubbles. In most cases though, the icing will cover them.

I was going to suggest the spatula technique too. For perfect smoothness, gotta use something perfectly smooth and flat, like the bottom of a class or a container.
