Gelatin windows in cookie house lit up with LED lights?

Anyone ever made a lighted cookie house with gelatin window panes? I am going to attempt this for a haunted house and would love to get any insights from anyone who has done this. I already have battery operated twinkle lights but I was wondering if it is better to have one brighter LED light in the middle of the house instead of smaller ones at each window. If I use the smaller ones I was planning on using royal icing to adhere the wires beneath the gelatin windows. Anyone tried this?

I have used melted butterscotch disks as window panes in my gingerbread houses. I used a battery operated tea light in the middle of the house. It was not a bright light, but a soft glow.
