Where can I get airtight containers to store my sheet cakes until I"m ready to ice them. I don't want them to dry out. Also, where can I get large airtight containers to store the larger round cakes until I"m ready to ice them? icon_smile.gif

Here is the link to a container that Wilton makes which will hold a 9x13 cake http://www.wilton.com/yearbook/productinfo/theultimate3in1caddy.cfm

I freeze cakes that I make ahead of time. Just wrap in saran wrap and foil or frezzer paper.

I have not done this, but what about buying some rubbermaid storage containers. Like the one's that go under your bed. Line them with foil and store the cake in there. Just a thought.

I store my 11 x15 in those extra large Hefty Zip Loc bags..they come in a pink/red box. First I wrap them in foil and just slide them in the zipper bag...they fit in there perfectly and you can re-use them over and over!

You're welcome! I get a lot of sheet cake orders, so I just make a bunch up whenever I have time, write on the outside of the bag what the flavor is and the date and toss them in the freezer until I need them!

I bought that Wilton cake carrier (the sheet cake one) and I have to say that I love it. It doesn't squeeze the 9 x 13, has ample room.

debsuewoo, I just purchased the Wilton cake carrier and wondered if there was actually enough room for the 9x13 cake. I figured it might smash the border like some cardboard boxes I have bought, so thanks for the info on the carriericon_smile.gif

It's the 11 x 15 and I tell customers they can expect to get about 30 good size servings!

If I wanted to do a cake (sheet) for about 60 people, what size cake do you recommend.

Thanks

Just stack one on top of the other, with a filling in between! Make sure you use a real sturdy board (or double board..that's what I do) for support though!!

Tupperware makes fantastic cake carriers in 3 sizes. I bought mine on Amazon.

Search for "Tupperware Cake Taker" - I have both the round and rectangle and LOVE them.
