I need y'alls help! I am new at cake decorating and need some advice on how to do a baseball cap cake for my brother's birthday....any and all suggestions welcome!
I was also considering doing cupcakes, though....any suggestions on those with a "hat" theme?
(These aren't really meant to be a baseball theme, he just loves hats!)
Thank you!!!
i would bake my cake in a pyrex bowl which would give you the basic hat shape and then make the peak of the cap out of gumpaste and leave to dry in the right shape for a couple of days. as for cupcakes if it is just a hat theme make little hats out of fondant and sit them on top of the buttercream
Thats how i would do it anyway, hope that gives you some help/ideas
Thank you Mandy! I hadn't thought of using a Pyrex bowl...However, I asked him what he wanted recently and now it's got me thinking of other things too...like an XBox!
I made by baking a 6 inch rd and then baking the top in a Wilton half ball pan. The brim I made by using a real cap and tracing it onto cardboard and then using that as my template. I then laid that on top the real hat brim to dry for a couple of days. Hope it makes sense
