I use standard Wilton pans for making cupcakes but the appear smaller than the cupcakes they show on TV or available at cupcakeries like Georgetown or Sprinkles.

I fill pans enough so the cupcakes rise to the top and filling them any further would cause spills. Which pans do I use for a good size cupcake?

Someone had posted a link to that IKEA cake pan a month or so back and I was so excited because I too am looking for a larger than average but not jumbo size cupcake. When I made the 1.5 hr trip to the closest store I found that the pan is very small, hardly bigger than a shot glass (yes taller but just barely and almost the same diameter)

if you scroll down about half way you will see brown liners that are slightly taller than standard. I have some on order and should be getting them soon. I plan on trying them in my muffin pan (straight edge).

That makes me sad about the IKEA pans. I thought they would be perfect. I will have to try out the brown liners you suggested. Thanks!

Thanks... the IKEA pans look like shot glasses lol... any advice on how to get the size that these stores sell?? Do they use a standard pan like Wilton?

I use a regular pan with larger liners (2 x 1 3/4) and the liners stick up above the pan, so I'm able to fill them more without it spilling over. They are a bit bigger and seem to be the size of some of the cupcake shops around here.

Can you tell me where you get the 2 x 1 3/4 liners? I would like to try them but I can't seem to find any that are as tall.

I just ordered liners from Qualitia Paper Product for my USA(William Sonoma gold touch) mini muffins and standard muffin pans. It took some measuring, but I am pleased with what I recieved. I did have to order a minimum of $50. I also ordered some from Charming Creations for the mini muffin pan, but they were too big.
