How do I color fondant bold/neon colors (other than black or red or air brush)? I tried coloring some fondex navy blue and I used Americolor navy blue gel coloring but I used so much that it became sticky. (It didn't even get to a true navy color).
TIA

When I need to use a lot of coloring to achieve the shade I want, I try to work some extra powdered sugar into it (I use FondX, too, by the way) and add about a tablespoon of shortening per pound of fondant. I'm not sure why the shortening helps, but it does. The extra PS offsets the liquid from the gel color. I actually do this to all my FondX fondant, because of the humidity where I live, but when I need to put a lot of coloring into it to get the color I want, I use even more of the PS and shortening. HTH!
