Hi all,

I'm replicating this cake:

I bought an impression mat to make that cobble-stone look around the bunker. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to make the pattern look seamless around the cake? The ends do not match up (if that makes sense).

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Are u sure they used a mat? It might be rolled up balls smushed down to look like stone. To use the mat I would put the seam either in the back where it will not show at least in pics or in the front and hide it with the birds. Hope it helps good luck.

Hi Momofjaic,

I think you're right that it's little balls smushed to get that look.
I think it was wishful thinking on my part that they used a mat instead of rolling up the balls manually icon_razz.gif

I tried to delete my post but it was too late. Thanks for the reply!!! icon_smile.gif

I use that mat quite often, and I just start another row right on top of that seam mark......

Thanks grama_j and icer101.

How do you avoid ending up with partial or half stones?
