I have a spiderman cake to do this weekend and I don't want the icing to be bitter. Any ideas how to make the red buttercream a rich red color without the yucky flavor?

start with tinting it with burgandy and maroon--let it sit for a couple hours before adding red.

You will get a rich red icon_smile.gif

I have some red cupcakes in my gallery and I colored them first with a bit of red drink mix and then added Wilton No-taste red. It is brighter than spiderman red but you could adjust it by adding a touch of black.
