I'm doing a sweets table for my best friends baby shower in a few weeks and Im on the hunt for a good cheesecake mousse recipe to use for it. I came across this one :http://glorioustreats.blogspot.com/ if that link didnt work then its the latest post on "glorious treats" blog, the only problem is it calls for cool whip, Im in Australia and coolwhip isnt really available here, would I be able to sub it out for normal whipped cream.. or would that end in disaster? I did read you need to be careful when subbing out cool whip for whipped cream as it could make things collapse. Otherwise, dopes anyone have a great cheesecake mousse recipe that can just be eaten on its own (planning to layer cheesecake mousse and biscuit base crumbs in a cup) they would be willing to share? thanks!

What I do for my cheese cake mousse it make a small cheesecake using 8 ounces cream cheese, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 cup sour cream. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350 turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for fifteen minutes. Chill for a couple of hours. Once the cheesecake has chilled I take two cups whipping cream and one small box of instant Jello cheesecake pudding. Whip until peaks start to form. Measure out one cup of your prepared cheesecake. Using a hand mixer blend the cheesecake until creamy. Fold into whipped cream pudding mixture.

oh that sounds great, but unfortunately we dont have instant jello cheesecake pudding, the only pudding flavours we really have are strawberry (if your lucky to find it), chocolate or vanilla.

Do you have Loranne candy oils? They have a cheesecake flavor you could add several drops to the vanilla pudding.
