I made a jungle themed baby shower cake. I didn't have enough time to make my own animals but it turn out ok for being the first cake I ever did for someone. Check out my photo and get some ideas! Good luck!! icon_biggrin.gif

okay i love that!!! that's kinda where i wanted to go, and then started thinking about actually molding the animals, or doing a shaped cake just couldnt decide on an animal (my son does climb alot like a monkey...though) what is the "sand" made off?

Do you think it will be terribly hard to try and mold the animals myself?

Thanks for your reply

There is one in my blog..... click the link in my sig and scroll down.. I made it while in course two..

made the animals out of royal icing..all you would need is some pictures the same way you would use color flow basically... but used the bottom (the part touching the wax paper) as the front of them if you know what I mean.

If you wanted to do a shaped animal cake look at the Wilton Animal Crackers pan. I just got it from a friend... and you can make different animals with that. I am going to try it soon.

Have fun!!

It is made up of crushed graham crackers. I got my idea from the 1991 Wilton yearbook. It goes in details of how to make the animals using royal icing. It seems fairly simple, but hey, what do I know. I'm just a beginner icon_confused.gif !!

Hi there! I did a Madagascar cake with royal icing palm trees. I used straight pretzel rods for the bottom. I got the idea from the new Wilton year book. If you can find it, it has some really cute jungle things in it!
