Hi,
Your can make the wood grain effect by marking the fondant with the back of a knife, make lines, wavy lines and circle effects, remember to use the back of the knife though because if you use the sharp edge it will cut into the fondant.

For the cobble stone effect, you could cut circles and ovals out of fondant, overlap them and lightly press them together.

Hope this helps, good luck! icon_smile.gif

I recently had to do some wood for a cake I was making and had no molds. What I ended up doing was taking some cocoa powder and lightly dusting some fondant with it. Then I started pulling and folding it like I would taffy. This gave me a stunning wood grain coloring. After that I hand shaped it into the shape I needed - This time waterlogged log. Once I had the base shape hand molded I took a tooth pick and started scaring the fondant with it till I have the grain texture I needed.

If you have a Michaels near you, there's a woodgrain impression mat made by the Duff line....it's really cheap and there's a 50% off coupon this week! HTH
