I have an order coming up which is to include the dreaded red buttercream!
The only brand I've ever tried is Sugarflair in Christmas Red and haven't had much luck.
I've tried both the method using pink first (no luck, although it wasn't a hot pink) and the method using a light chocolate buttercream to start (too brown)
Now I'm wondering if it's that my red isn't strong enough. I'm reluctant to add tons of colour as they're going to be eaten by kids, and even I manage to stain myself with over-coloured buttercream
Any feedback would help me greatly on my quest for the perfect red!
I have that in my eBay watch list ready to buy, I must have a good instinct haha! Thank you both
X3 Americolor Super red
Start with white though to get a true red. Make it a head of time weeks if possible & freeze it. I find freezing brings the color out faster. Note that when it dries it will get even darker
