Help Me With A Curious George Figure/head

Making a small 3D Curious George for a top of a cake....I've got the body down, no problem, but I can't figure out the head...how to shape it and how to get the 2 different skin tone colors.

Do you shape it in a darker brown first then cute the shape of the face out in a thin piece of fondant and lay it over the brown?

Help!

I've never done a curious george, but I would try it exactly how you suggested HTH

Haven't done George either, but I did a whimsical monkey and did it the way you described, and I think it turn out good. It's in my gallery. Good luck and have fun!

Yes, I did a George, and I did almost what you described. I made the dark brown head, added the light brown mouth part to it, and then cut the light brown face panel and attached it.
I actually found a George birthday candle at a party store and used it as a model.
