For a jewelry party? Pull out the isomalt and make some jewels and decorate away!

Dessert style means more like with buttercreams, sauces, glazes. Decorations made with fondant, isomalt and all that other stuff is secondary, not important.

Simple cakes that look yummy even on the outside; especially no fondant.

Maybe you can find stuff in Sweetapolita's blog. She's got this kind of cake a lot on her blog.

Also, there are delicious chocolate cakes in the book Sky High. Maybe google that: "chocolate cake Sky High" and you'll get to blogs of people who have made them. I especially recommend this one:

It's one of the best chocolate cakes out there.

Thanks, imagenthatnj!! That is exactly what I am looking for! As for those who didn't know what I meant by "dessert style" That just means that I am not doing a highly decorated cake, skip the fondant and "themes" This cake is meant to look and taste irresistible..(even though the highly decorated cakes do taste good too!) But I consider the ones meant to make you say "ooo look how cute, it matches the theme" or something as "decorated cakes" I consider the ones where you walk in, see the cake on the table and your mouth waters because you might see fresh fruit, or chocolate oozing down the sides! I don't know any way else to explain it, or anything else to call it LOL! Just my personal way of saying things lol!
