I'm making desert bites for party...mini cuppies, cake balls, brownie bites, etc. How many is a "serving size?" It's a long party, so people will be nibbling for many hours. Is 4 per person too many? More? Less?
When I read your heading on the homepage, I was thinking 3-4/serving so I think that 4 is good especially since the party is going to be a long one. Are the guests going to graze during the party opposed to having a sit down meal?
I have a wonderful book by Flo Braker called Sweet Miniatures. She's a superb baker and catered for a long time. According to that book, they say 5 1-bites per person. **However** it depends on the different varieties you offer - people will want to try one of each (especially as a CC'er they will taste and look amazing!). So if you offer 2-3 choices it's 2-3 per person (plus some) to taste one of each. If you offer 4-5 choices, you will need to give 4-5 pieces per person (maybe less some) to account for them wanting to try "one of each".
Thank you, both! I was figuring I'd make one of each treat for each person, plus extra. I guess that helps me decide how many varieties to make! I just needed the opinions of people in the know!!
