Ok need some ideas..lol I was asked to do a cake for a girl who is turning 16 on the 13th of Sept. Here is the thing....she really doesnt have any family and I was asked to do this cake by a close friend of hers. I am looking for some ideas that are fairly easy (as I am still new..lol) but yet something that will make her day special....TIA

Personally for a sweet sixteen I love to do a LIGHT pink and white. I like to base ice the cake in pink then do white borders, and cornelli lace (my favorite thing to dress up a cake!) I like simple cakes for special occasions. You could even do a solid color base ice with a ribbon around the bottom as the border, or even around the middle of the cake.

If you feel comfortable doing roses they are always a classic. Can you find out if she has any special interest? Maybe you could do a theme around that.

Hope these ideas spark a little creativity (i'm running out of it tonight)

I found a couple of pics of sweet 16 cakes at google.
I like the 2 hearts for a sweet 16. Hope this helps.
