Besides Basic sugar, Chocolate, and Chocolate chip. what other cookie recipes are good for decorating with RI?
well, you can certainly flavor a basic recipe. I particularly like almond flavored cookies, but I am careful that there are no nut allergies for whoever receives them.
I've also used natural fruit flavorings in place of the vanilla in a basic recipe... cherry, strawberry, coconut, lemon, lime, etc.
I love mocha cookies and amaretto cookies, too.
I was thinking that. I just got a bunch of lorann oils and my sis is begging me to make cotton candy flavored cookies..... I'm a bit hesitant
I like to spice up a basic sugar cookie with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. I've done lemon, too, by replacing the vanilla with lemon extract. I decorate my cookies with fondant and use a sugar glaze to stick the fondant to the cookie and I add matching flavor to that, too. A bit of lemon juice or a bit of cinnamon. Other than that I'm not too adventurous with flavors for decorated cookies...but now you have me thinking...
Cinnamon! why didn't I think of that. Fall is coming I'm sure people would love a chance at fall flavors!!
oh,ginger snaps...love 'em
edited to add- oops, forgot to suggest iced oatmeal cookies.
i guess I got excited about the ginger snaps and forgot to mention them. lol
