this is what I go by. Some will say it is a little low, but you can adjust the percentage off, as you go up in quantity. And add more if there are extra decorations.
I had an order for 36 cupcakes and the lady wanted some decorations of gumpaste on them. I told her it would be $20 more and she didn't even blink an eye when I gave her the total. What people won't pay when the want something.
if each cupcake cost $1.75 Then:
1 dozen: $ 21.00
2 dozen: $ 42.00
3 dozen: $ 63.00
4 dozen: $ 84.00
5 dozen: $ 105.00
you can give 5% discount on the 1 dozen,10% to the2 dozens ,15% to the 3 dozens, 15% to the 4 dozens and 18% to the 5 dozens. If you do then this would be the price :
1 dozen: $ 19.95
2 dozen: $ 37.80
3 dozen: $ 53.55
4 dozen: $ 71.40
5 dozen: $ 86.10

I live in a small beach town, in Florida. I am always shocked, my customers do not even blink at the cost of a cupcake. However, if they were bakers, they probably wouldn't be in here. We are very small and keep 5 7 seven flavors each day. A cupcake rarely sits in my case for more than 2 days.... we actually struggle keeping up with the demand.
We charge $1.99 for a regular cupcake and $2.99 for a specialty cupcake, such as a filled cupcake or a specialty frosting such as peanut butter chocolate ganache.
We do not give discounts for volume. Most who even ask are looking at buying a dozen, maybe two. My brides, who purchase 50 - 150, are just looking at the bottom line and a cupcake is a deal when compared to a wedding cake slice. Good Luck!
