Hi everyone!
I'm making 400 cupcakes for my friend's wedding next weekend - they will have a white buttercream swirl and 1 or 2 blossoms made with red fondarific + tylose powder.
Can I put the blossoms on the cupcakes the night before the wedding, the reception is in the evening and will be in my air conditioned home until then - or will they start to wilt?
I've started making the flowers and should be done making them so that they have had a week to dry out.

Every time I have put the flowers on the day before, they have all softened, even with a very high ratio of gumpaste. Just my experience.
I add my flowers when I'm setting up at the venue. I've had flowers melt on me and have had colors seep from the fondant onto the buttercream doing them the day before. It's also handy to have a flower to cover up any oops-it-fell-over cupcakes or oops-I-just-stuck-my-finger-in-the-buttercream cupcakes.

As previously mentioned - i would put the flowers on the BC at the reception - that way you know it looks perfect when you leave...

I don't. They take way too much time to set up. I've started charging an additional $25 fee for cupcakes above what I'd charge for weddings and I've also got a big fat disclaimer on my contract that I'll bill an additional $50 if I have to take out my glue gun for any reason to mess with their stupid cheap-@ss cardboard cupcake tower. I had one wedding where they did a DIY thing with soup cans and cake rounds - and it wasn't assembled when I got there. It took me an extra hour of gluing their wobbly ugly excuse of a wedding cupcake tower before I even touched the cupcakes.
Kicker was I ended up with a parking ticket when I finally got back to my car. 
@FromScratchSF, I had a couple leave me plastic drinking cups and thin layers of cardboard to support 200 cupcakes and a cake. What? It was ridiculous, just to save on a $25 rental fee. And this was after we had a talk about how heavy everything is, sheesh.

HAHAHAHAHA OK you win! Plastic cups? Come on! That's horrible. What did they think it was going to look like when it was done? That's what kills me about cupcake weddings - people want them because they think they are cheep - but then don't understand why their display looks like @ss.
Oh well.
I am shocked to read that your customers are so cheap and tinny when it comes to displaying their cupcakes. 
To be honest i would say *no* to their form of displays.
No wonder niether of you enjoy doing CC Weddings...i can totally understand why now - shezzzzzzzz, how foolish to get someone to make beautiful cupcakes only to risk the whole bloody lot falling onto the floor with such cheap and tinny displays....

I did cupcake for,my daughters wedding in June. Took a lot of planning! Flowers went on the cupcake by my hobby at the venue. Photo in my pics.

I have this same problem...I have 350 cupcakes I need to make. Each table has 10 cupcakes on with different board game themes. The cupcakes have to be set out before the ceremony because the ceremony is in the same room as the reception.....this is my first wedding im baking for....eeeek and it is going to be so hot....maybe I should get them to turn up the ac or keep the cupcakes in the fridge to the last minute......I apologise I know this didnt help the original question

I agree with PP that leaving the flowers until the last possible moment would be best- I have added blossoms early on and they still looked fine (in my photos) however they were not tinted, and were so tiny that being soft didn't make them wilt anyway.
What I would love to do one day is convince a weddig party to have a big table with enough cupcakes for each guest to have one, but plain- then have tubs of icing/sprinkles etc and some equipment, then let the guests go nuts decorating their own cakes
